But was it a good movie?

Pros:
-Good fight scenes
-The character 'Venom" looked awesome
-It had a great moral and ethical plot about abstaining from darkness and staying in the light.
-It is pretty good for children. Venom might be a little frightening but other than that it is good for the kids.

Cons:
-Very long
-Very Corney
-Awkward to watch at times (with really stupid humor)
-To many characters in one story. Plus the extreme amount of alter egos with the main characters was strange. Especially Harry's strange euphoric personality in the middle of the film, he appeared to be on some drug for a while there.

It was a good but it was not an amazing movie. The first one was good when I saw it the first time then it was just a decent film. I probably will not need to buy this film. Though the video game in the previews looked great, the movie was not. "Batman Begins" made this movie look like "Toy Story". But go see it and make up your own mind.

Religion of Your Choice

Are you a religious person?

Dictionary.com says Religion is:

A set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, esp. when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs.

In light of the new announcement of by James E. McGreevey and his ambition to switch religions from the Catholic religion to the Episcopal religion. We have to ask the question, what is religion and does it really mean anything? Saying that you are a religious means absolutely nothing. It means about as much as saying I wake up every morning and brush my teeth. When it comes down to it I honestly do not care how many times you do anything for your religion or your god. To often in today's society people go shopping for a religion like its a new car. Its like "The Matrix" they just say "ya god I'll take a religion that allows me to be gay, have lots of sex and do drugs" and their fake god (that they have created within their mind and their religion) says "sure why not, we'll have the price for you at the next window". Then they go to church and say their stuff and they think their god is sitting up in heaven saying "well he prayed today and he went to seminary school so lets give him some points for that" when that is a totally egregious thought process and is just that a thought process or in other words man made.

This is not the real God that they are after. They want something that will allow them to do what they want to do. I'm just glad that when Jesus was about to be crucified he didn't switch religions because he didn't want to sacrifice himself. In every religion you have to sacrifice something you can't have life both way's.

Some good lyrics on this subject: The Ataris

I'm not trying to say I have the answer
All I know for sure is that we weren't put here
To serve ourselves, that's so selfish
To think that we're put on this earth just for pleasure
I know that there's much more than that.

But I won't tell you what it is; it's up to you
To decide for yourself what is wrong and what is right
And know that we all make mistakes, there's always time
To turn your life around and change
All the wrong decisions that you've made.

Click Here For The McGreevey Story

Why Even Write About It!

Rosie is gone! I am not trying to brush his behavior off as a good thing at all, I will be the first to say he is very stupid for saying those things to his young daughter, but he did it, now let the people see his dumbness and let the story subside.

Definition: Coward

Coward: a person who lacks courage in facing danger, difficulty, opposition, pain, etc.; a timid or easily intimidated person.
-Dictionary.com

Click Here to see the face of a coward

"In a broad sense the word coward is a good word to describe him, but in another sense (a narrower sense) it is not. I can't think of any way to put all of this elegantly, so here it is:

Same Sex Couples and Fairy Tail Weddings
Here we have the acceptance/collectivist/PC crowds thought process at work. O'Donnell

First off republic not democracy. Second "asking"? If I tell you that global warming is fake I am not asking whether it is fake or not (which it is, just as her 9/11 view is) I would be telling you that it is a fake THEORY (as I just did) you can ask questions but if your going to ask them before you provide yourself with an answer.

Click Here for proof that her THEORY is fake.

The position from the left is that we just need to give them a chance to live their way and we can live our way peacefully. Didn't we try that in the 90's after we were attacked time and time again. And it finally took one big blow on 9/11 to make people see that it is not all puffy clouds and hearts down here on earth. Oh but wait she thinks it was fake so that argument does not hold water with her or any of the other nut cases.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. If a terrorist has and AK on each of our backs we would both die. Not just me she would too, and I really don't want that because I think she has some things she needs to work out with her and God before she dies.

She says "You can walk through life believing in the goodness of the world or walk through life afraid of anyone who thinks differently than you and try to convert them to your way of thinking." The world is not good the world is evil and deceptive, the world is bad and I do not want to become one with the world or believe in the world. The world is filled with imperfect people and good and evil exist whether you like it or not. Everyone is not some strange shade of good that we just don't understand correctly, evil exists.

Ahmadinejad wants Israel demolished. Its not that he is evil or anything its just that he sees things from a different perspective so we have to sit back and let it happen. That is what I gather from her statement. I just cannot imagine that this is what she is talking about when she says the "goodness of the world".

"300"

A short review of "300".

The movie "300" is generally a good movie. I will list the parts that I liked and the parts that I didn't like.

Pros:

-Good fighting scenes.
-Fairly good acting.
-A lot of adrenaline.
-You know who the enemy is there is no strangely blurred line.
-The whole movie is action from start to finish.
-Cool computer animation.

Cons:

-The main characters accent was slightly strange, obviously not Greek.
-The sex scene really didn't seem to fit in there at all. It was in slow motion as well. I didn't really need to see that.
-You weren't really that angry at the enemy. Where as in a movie like"Braveheart" you were really mad at the enemy.

Overall I give it 3 1/2 stars out of 4.

Split Up

Each party promises to make changes. Every party promises to do things that are going to make their voters happy. And every party is filled with politicians and they are pretty much liars. Politicians are as apt to stand up for what they said they would about as much as a television network is apt to stand up for a failing show. Yes I did just compare politicians to television executives. And the money that television executives crave is equivalent to the power politicians crave.

Even though it seems like we have predominantly two parties that assertion is false. If you are looking at republicans and democrats as an example of the two predominant parties you will see four parties present. You have conservative republicans and center/left leaning republicans and you have center/conservative democrats and far left democrats. This is the reason why nothing can get done because these parties that are in the actual parties themselves keep butting heads.

This will always cause division in the system that will keep us on the same path we are on now, nowhere! One might think the politicians from the right and the left that hang their hats on the middle of the rack could form an alliance, come together and get something done but it is impossible. They are all to nailed down to their party.

This is not supposed to be taken as a rant on the party system. I am angry at our politicians reluctance to do something. We didn't vote them in so that they could sit and argue all day, we want something out of our vote. For example the democrats are trying to bring the troops home. They know that the president is going to veto anything that they do. So compromise a little or at least try. Because for me (the average citizen) it looks like an argument between a couple of five year olds. If I was a democrat I would be angry because they are fighting a loosing battle because right now Democrats are not thinking about bringing the troops home for their well being nor are they thinking about the well being of the Iraqi people, they are thinking about the oval office. They want to be the knights in shining armor that rescue the troops. If they actually had something pass that would bring them home I am sure that would be their running platform. But its not going to happen the President said he would veto it, and he will. So the democrats are just making it known that they don't agree with the war, but we already know that.

Don't get me wrong, this issue will still be on the ballot. They will still try to sell the American people the lie that they are for the troops. And the republicans will push back with the clear fact that they are keeping us from funding the troops. And still nothing will get done.

This country would be a lot better if only everyone in congress could just forget about their party for five minutes and do something. It needs to be known that everyone that is in congress right now are politicians that care about nothing more than their party and winning the white house in 2008. That is why nothing can get done and they are so divided.

Everythings "Out of Control!"

There are not many of them left these day's. The war on terror, the war on drugs, and the war on so on and so forth. If you ask almost anyone if war is good or bad they will say it is bad. War is not a good thing, people die and its horrible. I think that sometimes republicans have a crazy notion in their mind that if they hear another republican talking and he doesn't come off like the guy on that history channel show "Mail Call" they are not a real republican. That way of thinking is not smart. I should stipulate that hating war in general should be universal. I don't think that it is good if anyone likes war, actually that is a sick and twisted thing if you actually like war. But hating this war, hating this president, and hating the administration is not a productive road to head down and it only leads to what we have witnessed since the 2000 election, political divide.

You can disagree with the President and not like his policy, but downright hatred of him is idiotic. Personally I don't like war I hate anything where good men and women have to die. But I do think that we are justified in waging war on Iraq/Saddam and Afghanistan. Saddam broke the laws that he agreed to follow far to many times and Afghanistan was the home to the people that attacked us on 9/11. In Iraq things have gone wrong, I realize that. We had bad intelligence. We haven't utilized everything that we have militarily and we put to many restrictions on our troops. If you sent Rocky Marciano into the ring with one hand tied behind his back he wouldn't have a good fight. But after all of this I still think that our mission is good and of worth to achieve. Why? you ask.

I pulled into a parking lot today and I saw a car that had some bumper stickers that were anti-President Bush and anti republican. I to have some bumper stickers (far less idiotic than this persons) on my car, none the less mine don't share the same point of view. I would love it if the people in Iraq could have this. It brought me joy to see that this person has the right to say what she wants to say.

There is a war of irrational ideas going on in America right now and that war needs to stop. I have no problem with a rational pool of ideas that are thought upon and debated by the people and our government. But irrational thought and spontaneous emotional actions will only lead you into a dead end. It desperately needs to stop in Iraq as well as here at home. Granted the degree that we make our emotional decisions on is not as harsh as the people in Iraq, none the less emotion plays a huge part in what the terrorists in Iraq do and I don't want it to get that far in America. I am not saying that emotion should not be present in the decision making process I am just simply saying that people need to think before they spew their ideas.

Freedom is a great and significant cause in the world and worth fighting for. Just like we did in the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, and in WW2. In all of those wars freedom of some kind was at stake or in jeopardy. And in Iraq freedom was not only at stake it was abolished. Anyone that says that Iraq was better under the rule of the killer and dictator Saddam needs to really re-think their position and fill up their empty head with common sense. Freedom is universal and should be able to be felt by everyone on this earth. Fighting for it is not wrong. Whether we went into Iraq for weapons of mass destruction or not we went in on the basis that someones freedom was in jeopardy.

Everyone needs to know this , most of the time you will not change a persons opinion about any political issue, especially if you are trying to ram it down their throat like so many wacko activists do in this country. Be smart, thoughtful and remember to share a viable opinion with someone rather than fighting with a knife of activism.

Top 10 Puppets

It is time for everyone to cut the strings that bind them to their pride in their ideals and admit when you are wrong or have said something false. If you make the list it is not a good thing. It means that you are a cheerleader for a certain idea rather than an intellectual thought that is clear. I will admit that sometimes I might fall under that category of cheerleader or person for a certain ideal, but the very fact that I have come to terms with this and I can admit that it happens leads me to believe that I am exempt. The people that I am talking about are people that make a living or get unwarranted recognition from their stupidity and/or their ignorance.

10. Drivers

Everyone that drives in this country at one time or another will make a mistake whether they know it or not. The funny thing about people that drive is that they are some how attached to the idea that everything that they do good or bad is justifiable, but if someone does it to them they are the worst driver in the world. I fall under this category sometimes. How many times have you heard people say “nobody knows how to drive”. So in this case people are puppets to some strange thought process that they are the best drivers, when the truth is they are not.

9. Talk Radio Hosts

Talk radio is a great thing and it is a good place for the right to counter punch the left leaning media. But there is a problem in talk radio that needs to be explored. It is important that this is mentioned. Talk radio is entertainment, in other words it is news related items that entertain a certain position on any one subject, it is in no way shape or form journalism, it is one huge editorial. The problem starts when you get to people that tied down to their political party. Most of the time these people cater to republican ideals only. So in other words if a republican said that jumping off a bridge was the right thing to do they would support that opinion. I think that that is a very bad and dangerous road to go down, because you are only digging yourself a hole that you will eventually fall in. It is crucial to point out that there are Democrats (notice I am not using the term left or liberal because this specially refers to people agreeing with a party’s side) that do this too but there are more republicans.

8. The Music Industry

This industry is one that consists of many left leaning people even communists at some points in history. The sad thing is coming from a person like me who loves music from all people, the left puts out some of the best music. CCR, Springsteen, Young and many more. I am hesitant to put Bob Dylan in that list (see next item). The music industry like the news industry caters to the far left for a reason that is unknown. Probably because music is artistic and a lot of artistic thinkers tend to sway left but that is slightly erroneous and a blanket answer that generalizes to much. In the case of the music industry the artists are puppets to their own ideology that in a lot of cases most people do not want to hear anyway. Given the exact perfect timing and the exact perfect wording sometimes it may work, but not very often. For the very reason that I am against my blanket statement, it is the same reason that I am against what comes out of musicians, which is usually one-dimensional thoughts about war and peace that have no artistic value and are nothing more than people trying to force an idea down your throat.

7. Bob Dylan

This is the one time that I was talking about in the last item, he wrote and made his music at the exact perfect time. Bob Dylan is used and abused by so many people that it is ridiculous. In fact I am probably doing it here. There are websites out there that are only about Dylan stuff and for some odd reason they feel the need to post topics on these sites and in articles about artists that come from the left. It is not uncommon to see the Dixie Chicks and Bob Dylan in the same article or website. Just because the Dixie Chicks don’t like the President they are suddenly right up there with Dylan. For anyone that likes him that is Dylan blasphemy. Through out his career people have been trying to push him into corners claiming that he is something that he is not and time and time again he refutes them but they keep on coming like hungry rats. It really makes me sick and that is why I try not to make him out to be anything other than himself. When you go to read articles about the man the writers for some odd reason think they need to place words in some poetic or artistic form like they are trying to emulate his writing. This is sad because people have chained him down and tied the strings on to his arms and legs and he keeps cutting them off but he is not fast enough. He is a huge puppet that people use. They use him to talk about things pertaining to the right and the left. And that it is quite sad. Quoting him and using him as an example for something is fine but when you start grouping him with people that he doesn’t group himself with leave it alone.

6. Americas “World News”

World news in and of itself is a strange dichotomy because in news media there is a target audience and usually that target market is the country that you are broadcasting from, but for some reason it doesn’t work that way in America. For some odd reason in an attempt to get attention or ratings (which has proven itself useless) the news networks in America consistently provide news that denigrates the country. I have said it before and I will say it again, it comes from the Cronkite syndrome, a strange way of trying to appeal to people the same way Cronkite did during the Vietnam War. In this case the news companies are puppets to a strange marketing technique that try’s to appeal to the left and provides shock value, which doesn‘t surprise me because a liberal thought process (liberal is used literally) will almost all of the time give you some added shock value.

5. Movie and Television Industry

The emergence of a strange new movie and television industry that caters to the left, feminization and societal degradation is fairly sad. It constantly denigrates men, the family, decent human values and heroics. It is not even that they are pushing anti-hero’s it is down right dummying down of all of the aforementioned. Saying feminization is not a hit on women either, it is a hit on the writers that make men have no place in a family setting other than occupying a place on a script as a comedic whipping post. There are no more Cliff Huxtable’s, Alan Seaver’s, Rocky Balboa’s or John Wayne’s there are men that are clueless and sometimes even women that have no idea what is going on in their own lives and families. And people wonder why the role model is dead. There are some movies and shows out there that are good like “24” and the new “Rocky Balboa” but overwhelmingly they are not good and nothing new ever comes out of these people. They are puppets to societal pressure.

4. Religious Groups

I am referring to strange groups that claim to be Christian groups when they are nothing of the sort, they are “religious” and they do certain customs that are not lined out in the Bible at all. These are religions that are on the verge of being cults. I need not mention them we all know who they are. What I will do is coming from a Christian perspective I will tell you what they are not. They do not kill people they don’t agree with. They do not believe in any certain dress codes or weird things that you have to DO in order to get to heaven. They will not force you to DO anything and they will not insert their own worldly ideals into their teachings. These people are puppets to ideas that come out of thin air. There is a big difference between religion and faith in God. Religion seeks out to force you to do things to get somewhere, but faith says that (if you have any) doing what needs to be done will come naturally.

3. Educators

Educators are some of the worst people to talk to about governmental affairs. They will always say that education is the only way a person can get anywhere in life and that is totally and unequivocally false. In this day and age college is nothing more than a hot bed for sex and drunkenness and a place where teachers use their classrooms as pulpits instilling people with ideals and that is not conducive to a healthy learning experience. They are puppets to the idea that knowledge is the same as wisdom, and that with education you are unstoppable when that is totally false.

2. Government

The government is something that has to be restricted by its people. The government in America is slowly gaining power that it should not have. For example judges are making decisions for the people and that is not the foundation of freedom that America was based upon. The people know what is best for the people. The only thing the government should be a puppet to is the people, but they are puppets to power.

1. You and Me

We are all puppets to our own thoughts and ideas. I am a puppet to me and you are a puppet to you and that is the irony of it all, no one person can ever come from a totally unbiased position. They will always be dangling their ideas and conclusions in front of your face like a puppet. We are all puppeteers.

Take Your Headphones Out!

Why should people not be able to wear their iPod's. Democratic Senator Carl Kruger wants to stop people from wearing their iPod's while they are crossing the street. I don't understand who Kruger is protecting. The death of a woman who was wearing the headphones was cited in the senators defense. The problem with this is that if a woman or man wants to wear headphones and put their lives at risk than let them do it! The purpose of the government is not to create laws that protect people from themselves. If this is the norm than why not keep people from using matches you might get burned, keep people from walking with scissors you might get cut, and take all knives out of houses you might get stabbed, somebody might get hurt.

"If you're so involved in your electronic device that you can't see or hear a car coming, this is indicative of a larger problem that requires some sort of enforcement beyond the application of common sense" Said Kruger. People are not paying attention to what they are doing because they cannot hear? We have people that cannot see or hear walking around all of the time, just the other day I saw a visually impaired man walking down the street, his excuse for this law is not viable, common sense is something that people need to acquire and nothing more and nothing needs to be enforced by the government.

No iPod's, hand held video games or anything that can cause a distraction while crossing the street. Again if people want to risk their lives to listen to thirty seconds more of music than let them. I have an iPod and I listen while I ride my bike and I wouldn't want to take my headphones out every time I have to cross the street, I will just look around to see if there are any cars coming.

Our senators and members of our government have to be responsible for keeping us safe and preserving our freedom, not for taking it away.

Information from this story was provided by Fox News.com

Click here For The Full Story
Click Here For More iPod Information
Click Here For A Video On The History of The iPod

The Super Bowl

The Colts have won it!

I have been cheering the Colts on this year and last year. I think that they are a team set around morals and ethics. There are some other teams in the NFL that should take a page out of the Colts book and try to use it to their advantage. Peyton Manning is one of the best if not the best quarterbacks playing out there right now and he to seems like a good guy.

In a world where everything centers around sex, controversy, and money Tony Dungy really did a great job of being set apart from that. While he quietly and proudly acknowledged the issue with the African American coaches, he very loudly and boldly spoke of Jesus Christ and that is what we need more of in the football world. I really feel that there are some teams in the NFL that are great and maybe even close to one of those great old teams where heroes stood out and I think that The Colts are one of those teams.

Aqua Teen Hunger Terrorists

"They are part of an outdoor marketing campaign in 10 cities in support of Adult Swim's animated television show Aqua Teen Hunger Force" -Fox News

There is two ways that people will try to spin this story.

1. White Christmas With The Drifters

White Christmas is a great song and one of the great moments in movie history is in "Home Alone" when he is standing in front of the mirror singing. That scene makes this version of this song great.

14. Home Alone Main Title('Somewhere In My Memory')

Another home alone song but none the less it is a good one. The main title is great because it adds a strange element to Christmas. It has some what of a creepy element and makes for a good holiday song. Later on it transitions into a happier song and is a great piece to listen to during Christmas.

13. Baby It’s Cold Outside - Sammy Davis Jr. and Carmen McRae

I really love this song. The thing that makes this particular version the best is Sammy Davis Jr. and his eccentric voices and great singing. don’t get me wrong Carmen’s voice is great too but Sammy does it great.

12. Sleigh Ride - The Ronettes

This is a great rock and roll Christmas tune.

11. Rockin Around The Christmas Tree - Various Artists

All of the good rock and roll Christmas music is very great because it gives a sense of nostalgia during the Christmas season.

10. Blue Christmas - Elvis Presley

Who could do this tune any better than the King?

9. Carol of the Bells - Trans-Siberian Orchestra

Trans-Siberian Orchestra is one of the few new Christmas acts that I like. They put a new spin on the music with out compromising the tune. Not only is it new it greatly utilizes the Guitar as part of this great Christmas rock opera.

8. The Christmas Song - Nat King Cole

This is one of the greatest Christmas songs of all time. And when sung by Nat King Cole it is the best. It has a great piano solo at the end of the song that just makes it that much better.

7. Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer - Gene Autry

When I hear Gene Autry say “You know Dasher and Prancer and Comet and Cupid and Donnar and Blitizin, but do you recall the most wonderful reindeer of all.” It is something that I look forward to all year. Not to mention that Gene’s Christmas Album is one of my childhood favorites.

6. Have A Holly Jolly Christmas - Burl Ives

You can almost see the words emitting from good old St. Nick singing it himself. And the great part about this is the wonderful happiness in Burls Voice.

5. The Christmas Waltz - Frank Sinatra

There is a good reason why Frank is on the list because he is “The Voice” and what would Christmas music be with out “The Voice”. This song really helps make the season feel just right.

4. Silver Bells - Bing Crosby

Silver bells putts you right in the arms of a city during Christmas even when you live in the desert. It is wonderful.

3. I’ll Be Home For Christmas - Frank Sinatra

One of the best parts of Christmas is the family and this song is a nod to all of those hard working people that might not be able to make it home because life sometimes gets in the way.

2. Oh Holy Night - Nat King Cole

This is one of the greatest songs ever. It really lets us know what the real meaning of Christmas is. The best line is how Christ made the soul feel its worth, because he did.

1. White Christmas - Bing Crosby

This is the ultimate Christmas song no matter who you are. It is an Irving Berlin classic that was first performed by Bing Crosby in “Holiday Inn” the movie and also first performed live by Bing as well. This song and album make Christmas a good Christmas.

It is important to remember why we celebrate this national holiday. It is because of Christ. God bless everyone on this Christmas.

Snow!

Its the west coast what is this snow you speak of?

It is true we had a big storm in Arizona and snow fell only an hour away from my house. The news headline on MSNBC was something like NBC News Now Calling Iraq War a Civil War. I find it comical that a news network is in essence reporting on itself. NBC and MSNBC are owned by the same parent company, just so it is clear that there is a correlation between the two.

It should be noted that I am not disputing whether or not this story is true or false all I'm doing is finding amusement in this story.

For more information: Click here to see the video from the morning show "Today".
For more information: For more info on the MSNBC network click here.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is maybe one of the more underrated holidays but it still is great. There are a few reasons why it is good.

In no particular order:

1. Thanksgiving is a very American holiday. It is in a way more American than the forth of July. It is almost like Americas birth day.

2. You are not required to give anything other than thanks and yourself. No crazy shopping for things that people may or may not even use. Not to put Christmas shopping down because it is great fun, it just makes thanksgiving a lot less stressful.

3. You get to eat really good food and not feel bad that you are eating alot.

4. It is on a Thursday every year and thats great because you will always have a short week at work.

5. Football.

6. Spending good quality time with your family.

7. A really good time to just thank God for what you have with out putting in a word on what you would llike to have.

8. You feel like you are a part of something. With all of the hussle and bussle of things, traveling and making plans this time of year seems like it can't slow down.

9. Black friday. Even if you don't participate it is fun to hear the stories from the people that do.

10. Christmas is next. That is it, the next holiday is Christmas the best one of them all. The grand finalie and I intend to start the Christmas season tomorrow and live every minute of it to the fullest.

That is all of them.

Happy Thanksgiving and Merry (Early) Christmas!

Borat!

Good old Borat.

This movie even though crude at times is very funny. It is not the same time of crudeness as movies like "Old School" or some lame movie. It is funny because it reveals the ignorance of people on both sides. From showing the ignorance of radical thinkers on the right to feminists on the left it is funny all around. At times it made me feel almost embarrassed for him and made me just sink down into my chair. But it was still funny. Here's what I have to say about it. Are you offended easily? If you answered that question "yes" then it doesn't matter who you are you will be offended. Me on the other hand I am not offended easily and I can easily see the humor in making other people uncomfortable. It was very funny but again if you don't like offensive thing's then don't go to it.

Good Things:
Funny
Revealing

Bad Things:
Male Nudity
Offensive Material To Everyone

Freedom Has Gone Up In Smoke

It is back to smoking again. Talking to people on the streets I can see how easily they were misled and fooled by dollar driven facts and IDEAS. Smoking is horrible, it causes cancer, it is the worst thing out there. So ban it, everyone knows that it is bad so get rid of it. And if you are a person that doesn't like big government they got you on this one. In other words if you voted yes on 201 (or what ever number it was in the many states other than Arizona that had similar ballot propositions) and you don't like big government you are walking hypocrisy.

I remember fighting with my sister for many years when I was a kid. We would play a game where you push and pull on a door from either side of it until one or the other broke in to it. When ever you were on the out side and pulling, it was best for you because you could just put your shoe in between the door and the wall and closing it was nearly impossible.

That is what this smoking ban was. It was a foot in the door. Now closing that door again is going to be nearly impossible. They will just push and keep pushing and taxing and tearing away our freedoms one by one until we have none.

You might be thinking that I to am a hypocrite because I say that I want tax cuts, government out of smoking, I'm anti-abortion, and I want to stop letting the government take away our freedom. But on the other hand I don't want our society to be "pro-choice" in other words pro-abortion(refer to previous post you'll get all you need to know). And I am not opposed to taking away the NSA wire taps. First off I have not yet seen or heard of anything other than conspiracies about the wire taps. Second it doesn't prevent you from doing anything it just makes sure that you don't want to kill your neighbor or anybody else in this country. If I ever actually see something significant I will stand humbly corrected, but until that day I still have all of my freedom's. But I can't smoke if I want to where I want to and I am not even a smoker.

With that said, I will say this. If I can get cancer from second had smoke then so be it because I don't care as long as you are free. Freedom in this modern world is hard to come by. You might think that I am weird for saying that but it is true. This country is slowly becoming a country not based on for the people, by the people, but for the people, by the government. Sure we vote and we have a choice, but voting for things that actually restrict freedom is like cutting of both of your hands. If they're gone then what will you vote with?

Irony

I find it very ironic what Nancy Pelosi said today about the children. How she saw the children and they said that they were going to be something when they grew up. That is all well and great but the irony is like that commercial where there is a 500 pound gorilla in the room. The Senate Speaker Elect and a lot of her newly elected friends have no problem with a child being aborted, while in the same breath saying we need to do things for our children. I guess that leftists like to use the term children liberally.

It is that mentality that allows insane propositions like 203 on the ballot. I am sure revolutionary war vets are rolling over in their graves because of that. This to was done in the name of "children". I think that I will just start making everything I do be for the children. I am going to go hunting for the children, so I can feed them. I am going to go to church for the children. I am going to have sex with one woman for the children, wait what a novel idea. If we had done everything for the children then maybe the Republicans would have won.

No listen to this! I am going to have an abortion for the children. Or I am going to allow abortion for the children. That makes sense! Not! Everything can be about children and making their future better, but when it comes to abortion kill the children. I'm sorry they have a heart beat but it is just a pile of goop.

Here is a good analogy. If I drink something toxic I am likely to get sick. I don't want to get sick so I don't drink things that are toxic. If I have sex with someone it is possible that she could get pregnant. So if I don't want to have a baby maybe I shouldn't have sex. But we know that going into it. We are just a far to selfish society that is built around pleasure for ones self rather than for the well being for everyone else. That's why the people that say we are killing babies in Iraq have no credibility. Because most of those same people are people that are proponents of abortion.

You probably read that I am upset about the public ban on smoking and will say well that is selfish to want to smoke and that is not in the interests of other people. If I've said it once I'll say it again , be responsible for your self. You are the only one that is you. You are not congress and congress is not you. Congress doesn't define you, you define congress. And the government doesn't give you your rights, you have your rights and the government is supposed to protect you and your rights by providing laws that do that. You have a God given right to personal responsibility, just as you have the right to be personally irresponsible. But you should have to deal with the consequences of your actions. And if it means that if you have sex then you have a baby, then so be it! And for people that are caught up on abortion in the case of rape that is another subject for another time.

The bottom line is lets save the children. Lets legalize all abortion. They don't add up. You want freedom to do what you want with your body you got it.

“Democrats share the faith and values that Americans uphold in their families and in their communities. This was a very interesting election because of the interesting propositions that passed here in Arizona. All of the propositions that passed regarding illegal immigration passed with flying colors, but the candidates (Graf and Hayworth) who were in favor of those propositions the most didn't win. I guess the people of Arizona figured they could take care of the issue by voting yes on all of these issues.

However the gay marriage ban (prop 107) did not pass which is interesting because of the fact that the fairly conservative immigration propositions did pass so overwhelmingly. The other propositions that had a lot to do with tobacco did and didn't pass. Propositions 201 and 206 were very close to the same proposition but very different all at the same time. 201 which was the harsher of the two was the elected proposition. Along with early child development proposition 203 passed which would put an .80 cent tax on "cigars and other tobacco products". The minimum wage proposition 202 did pass along with the animal protection proposition 204.

I think that I will go out and collect all of the political signs and have a huge fire. Just joking, but I do hope that they are taken care of fast. It didn't completely go my way in all aspects but some good did happen. What ever happens I still have most of the constitution on my side.

Update 9:12 PM

9:12 pm

Arizona Graf v. Kerry had said General Casey is uneducated would there be any difference. President Bush is in charge of all the troops and represents all of the troops. So even if Sen Kerry's assertion that he was making a joke about the Presidents education is true, it is still not the right thing to do. Especially when you are in a position of power.

NO MORE POLITICS

WARNING: IF YOU ARE NOT IN FAVOR OF THE STRAIGHT TRUTH ABOUT THE STATE OF OUR COUNTRY STOP READING RIGHT NOW.

I am tired of politics in America. People are hating people on the streets because of their ideals. Dirty fights breaking out and people hating other people because of politics. Ads from companies on both sides that are just plain evil. I might even just vote for the guy that doesn't play any bad ads, that is how annoying it is. Please stop this because when it comes down to it, if terrorists attack this county they're going to kill both of you. No terrorist cares what party you are in, no terrorist cares what race you are, and no terrorist cares how much money you have. That is what we have in common, it is the plain fact that we all want to be alive tomorrow. That is why I don't understand why we are attacking each other. Do you not see that this is what the enemies want!
Divide and conquer apply directly to the brain!
Divide and conquer apply directly to the brain!
Divide and conquer apply directly to the brain!
Do you get it now. Instead of screaming at me because I do not agree with you, accept it that it is America and I can have a different point of view. Not agreeing with someone and hating someone for what they believe is different. The first one being simple every action that you commit has a consequence, this begs for the question, why do the action if the consequence is not beneficial? The other way of thinking goes as follows, do what you want and try your best to do away with what ever consequences may occur because you should be free to do what ever you want. It is the latter mind set that pushes abstinence out of schools when there are so many reasons why abstinence is a very beneficial action to take.

HIV testing is getting very popular among doctors and regular people. Now they are recommending that people as early as 13 start getting tested for HIV. This means a lot of things that we partially knew but maybe chose to ignore. It means that children at the age of 13 are having sex and/or experimenting with drugs and putting themselves at risk of getting the disease. This problem could be greatly helped by teaching our students in middle school in a different way. As far as drugs go schools have done a fairly good job of teaching children that drugs are not a good choice. On the other hand they teach them that they have a right to have sex and that makes teens think they are entitled to this as well as many other pleasures in life. I would be more in favor of teaching about pleasuring ones self before advocating sex with each other. Even though they are both most likely accepted in the schools sex education classes, at least that certain way they are not spreading disease everywhere. In no way do I think that it is an answer but as with most things having to do with politics and political issues you have to choose the lesser of the two evils , and I wish it were different!

This takes us on a very long journey into the minds of the liberal far left agenda. And it also reveals the selfishness of liberals. One underlying fact that nobody seems to take into account is that liberals are the most selfish people out there. Here is an example: Abortion , they never take the babies life into account they only take the pity on the mothers life and if it is going to make the life of the mother harder than they would say kill the baby. To combat that some would say that the baby would not get enough love or it would not have a good home and that is only justification for an abortion on the part of the mother and most likely an opinion skewed by an organization and or family member in favor of abortion. Some might say but the liberals only want to help people for example giving more money to the poor and raising taxes on the rich or providing universal health care. But that to stems from a selfish attitude, here are two reasons that they subconsciously convince themselves of their actions. We cannot put more money into the rich peoples pocket because they do not need it and therefore it is unfair to the poor people. And it is very important that everyone is equal and they get what everyone else has even if they do not deserve it. So how does that make them selfish? Because they pander to people that are in the lower class to get support from them and those people buy into it because they can get something from them. So all they want is support for their ideals and the power to push those ideals and these tactics have been used by governments for many years now. The latest example was the Venezuelan president pandering to lower class Americans so he can garner support from poor people and we all know that he wasn't going to give discounted gas to any middle class people that will need it just as much come winter.

Another example of the liberal selfish attitude is a new proposition in Arizona in regards to smoking. Prop. 206 bans smoking in public places and makes it a crime for a person to bring his/her child into a place where people smoke. So some might be asking how is this the same as tax cuts or universal health care? It is the same in regards to the fact that the liberals feel that if a small group of people are uncomfortable then everyone must be equally uncomfortable. So in other words if I work and I can afford health care then the people that don't work should get health care because I have it and that intern makes us equal.

But equality is not and was not supposed to be like that. Equality in America is not the same as equality in Venezuela or the old Soviet Union. Everyone is equal we all equally have the ability to get as far as we want in life. In other words I can get to be the owner of a major corporation and make tons of money in the same way that the person sitting next to me on the bus can. And I know that the people on the other side of this opinion will say that race, sex, size and religion hold people back and that is true in some situations and I pray every day that this problem will go away. But there are plenty of people that have broken through that because they did not dwell on the fact that they could be held back and fought their way up to the top because we live in America and they realized that.

I believe with my heart that if anybody works hard enough they can get anywhere they want. I also believe that I shouldn't hate anyone for any reason. But I do think that I can strongly dislike someone's ideas and not hate them personally. Sometimes I find myself thinking back to the day's after 9/11 and I remember how it felt for every American to be on a slightly even playing field. The people with money the people without, the people on the east coast the people on the west coast, and Democrats and Republicans. At the time I believe that brought about my first political revelation. I knew that it would not last long (as did many). I knew that with time we all would slowly break our bonds with our fellow man and become divided. Five years later I see that we are more divided than ever before. You might feel the need to blame people like me who have opinions about the other side that state opposition of them, but I don't think that is viable, our country is based on the idea that people should have their own opinion. You cannot place the blame on anyone specific, you have to blame everyone for it. People have started mixing up a persons ideals with the actual person. If we don't start getting along then something bad will happen. Getting along doesn't mean agreeing on everything but finding out what you do agree on and building on it because we need to unite as Americans. This is a statement to all of the people that I have called stupid or idiotic please don't make the mistake of it being aimed at you but aimed at your ideals.

The biggest mistake we could make would be to underestimate our enemy. In my mind the leftists and the democrats are not the enemy they are the competition, the true enemies are the guys that want to kill us. And don't think for a second that our enemies don't know what divide and conquer is.

Lethal Weapon

Imagine if this were true!

Yesterday I was in Hollywood, California, I was standing watching a young man and his family walking down the streets . The boy must have been 11 . His Mom saw ____________(fill in blank with a stupid Hollywood actor) walking down the street and pointed him out to her family. The young man asked her for a pen and something to write on so he could go and get an autograph. The movie star saw the boy coming and figured that he would give him an autograph the boy then passed by the star to a man dressed in an army uniform at a bus stop and preceded to get his autograph. The star stood there for a second and then walked away.

Why would this be good?
Because maybe people like Danny Glover would think twice when they open their mouths in support for people that call our President the devil. Please if you have the guts and if you agree with Danny go ahead and ask one of our troops if they agree with and him and look directly in their eyes when you ask. Remember who the President represents, whether you like it or not he represents you and me so when someone bad mouths him they are badmouthing you as well. If I had a Lethal Weapon collection I would through it away but I don't so I've got nothing to worry about.

I have friends that are over seas right now and this deeply angers me and I really hope that there are more people that feel the same way I do and I know there is.

How Much More of This Can We Take

I'll tell you right now that I love politics. Every time I vote my love for it grows. But right now at this very moment I am tired of it. There are a couple of things that we could do to make politics a little better. If we have learned anything from 9/11 and the War in Iraq it is that politics have not place in national security. The border and the war all have to do with national security and there is no room for politics there. That is the real reason why nothing gets done on the border because people on both sides are to afraid. That is the result of a divided nation, no body wants to do anything because if practically one percent of the voters change their minds then the party that made them mad is in the dumpster.

Is there a way that we can reunite again?
I honestly don't know, most likely its going to take something bad to happen, which is unfortunate. In other words once some idiot sneaks across the border and blows himself or something up then someone will do something about it. I am not saying that is what I want at all I just have a strange feeling for Washington to let go of its politics they either do it and save people now or they do nothing and people eventually get hurt. Honestly how hard do you think it would be for five or ten or twenty guys to get over the border. We have numbers greatly exceeding twenty everyday now. And 19 guys can do a lot evidence is obviously what they did on 9/11. We are just tying ourselves in a knot because we are not allowing our small law enforcement (police) to do anything about illegal immigration and the border patrol cannot be everywhere at once so as you can see we are doing it again (Definition it:. Selling our country out in the name of politics the same way that we did before 9/11). So to answer the real question can we unite again, yes but it is very possible that it will either be at the end of something bad or more unlikely but hopefully it will be at the end of the fear of something bad happening.

It is very funny yesterday was primary election day and I was very happy to know that the political ads were going to be cut in half and hopefully be off the air for a little bit. But last night and this morning after the election was already over I was watching T.V. and what did I see a political ad for the primary. And I will be the first to tell you that it was pretty annoying. Politics is everywhere but that is how our democracy works. Just keep in mind it could be worse, that's what keeps me moving.

The Path To 9/11

My rating: Four out of four stars.

This was one of the most excellent and telling television events that I have ever seen. "The Path to 9/11" was better than the movie "World Trade Center" and the best part was that it was free. It is a wacko movie about how the President planned the attacks and how the towers exploded and many other IDEAS that are wrong. I am insulted by these people, they use big words, you could probably spot one of them out in the crowd, they are strange individuals not because of what they look like but because of what they think.

There are many problems with what they are saying but lets just take a look at the basic things that we already know.

-Terrorists like the people that attacked us on 9/11 attacked us before 9/11 many times (examples 1993 WTC attack, The Cole and Embassy Bombings).
-Attacks were being planned before the current administration was in office.
-The terrorists such as UBL have claimed responsibility for the attacks.
-Bin Laden has issued his Fatwah to the United States which directly ties him to the attack.
(If I think of more I will write them down)

Here are some questions about the attacks.
-Why would president Bush do this to himself? And bury himself and actually make himself look bad by invading Iraq?
-How would he gain from Iraq politically (given that his approval rating now is very low)?
-Does this mean that the Clinton Administration had the same or some connections that the current one does?(Due to the on going attacks during his administration) In other words why would he do this to himself if his intentions wern't good?
-Has anyone spoken to any of the firemen that were in the WTC that survived and asked them if they herd explosions or anything that would indicate foul play?
-Can you give me some CONCLUSIVE evidence that this was planned by the administration? (NO CIRCUMSTANTIAL EVIDENCE) Times when events happened and unfolded that appear to create a small notion that the President did nothing as well as little circles on a page showing smoke that APPEARS strange and supposed meetings that the President had with terrorists will NOT do, I would like hard evidence that actually proves something.
-Have you talked to anybody associated with the terrorists (family and such) and tried to find out if they had any ties to the president?

Please answer those questions and while you are doing that look at this Click Here.

Late Night, Sinatra, autumn, and Life

I'm up late, had a long day at work today, listening to Sinatra, got a lot on my mind, now I'm about fifteen minutes into the fifth anniversary of 9/11 and sure its kind of strange.

It's strange when you look back at different times in your life. I was 15 when 9/11 happened five years later (well five plus fifteen equals twenty) I'm twenty. "Wow", I've been saying it to myself all day. That means five year old kids are now 10 and 15 year old kids that were 10 and now they're right where I was and it is strange. This event changed my life. If I hadn't seen 9/11 I probably wouldn't be typing here and I wouldn't have as much interest in politics and world issues. I am not saying that it was good by ANY means but as a child it woke me up. I just remember walking out of my high school to use the bathroom and standing in a totally vacant hallway at about 10:30a.m. pacific time and I just had a glimmer of fear, that it might not end and the feeling that I could be next. It can happen after you watch something that insane all morning. I obviously can't say that I was there in New York but for sure I was feeling quite bad that day as did every American.

There are some things that I wish would just happen for one day.
1. For just today end all nasty campaign ads.
2. For just today treat your neighbor as yourself.
3. For just today remember all of the hero's that are fighting for you.
4. For just today say hello to one person form the other political party.
5. For just for today take time to stop and look around and enjoy life with each breath and every single heart beat.

Autumn is in the air now and it feels beautiful outside. Winter is just around the corner as well as life. I'm going to finish up this Sinatra album and go to bed.

"Make it one more for my baby and one more for the road"- Frank Sinatra

God Bless everyone on this day.
And just pray for and remember everyone that has died and all of the people that are fighting and dying for you.
-Ray

Then and Now and Now and Then

I went to wal-mart and bought a new CD called "Modern Times" on Tuesday by singer songwriter Bob Dylan. Bob Dylan (now 65) released his first album Bob Dylan when he was only 21 a few months older than I am now. He was born in 1941 and released Bob Dylan in 1962.

In 1962 the world was entrenched in politics. News and strange things happening all around and little did everyone know that in five or six years the fan would be hit very hard with some of that you know what! There were plane crashes with casualties far above 200. Wars were starting and political tension around the world was tightening. Pope John XXIII was taking care of business by excommunicating Fidel Castro from the catholic church. The Cuban Missile Crisis launched its way into the homes of peoples TV's and radios. As school children were taught how to hide under their desks because that desk and the surrounding building was the only thing guarding you from an attack on our own soil. The crisis ended in the same year and the country took a sigh of relief in unison. John Glenn successfully orbits the earth and is well renowned as the first man to accomplish that feat. Baseball games are played and The Beatles are releasing chart topping hits. All the while an up and coming folk artist known as Bob Dylan is slowly being discovered and little does anybody know, but he will change the face of rock and roll forever.

When I and other people say this is the worst its ever been some times I have to question that. I would agree that in some cases it is for example in regards to illegal immigration IT IS the worst its ever been. And in other aspects as well. But sometimes I have to think in regards to other topics "is it the worst we've ever had it?". Put any one of the stories that I posted above next to the stories that are being put out today and they are all contenders. So the next time that someone says to you "this is the worst we've ever had it" take a look at the past. Once you glance at the past it is evident that there were mistakes that we made and there were things that we did right. And then we ask ourselves how can we learn from the past? Here are a few answers, we shouldn't let politics run our wars, we shouldn't open our borders (you don't have to look to far back to see why), and we shouldn't forfeit our way of life to accommodate someone else's. And that is just a few things. In some instances in the past we did the right thing and in some we did the wrong thing and its those wrong things that we did that we need to learn from.

This country is broken and we have to fix it. Years ago it was not broken but for some reason we tried to fix it.

Thanks to wikipedia.org for all of the information.

Dejavu: Democrats spotlight blunders

So, there is this in the news:

by Jim Kuhnhenn, AP
August 28, 2006

WASHINGTON - Hurricane Katrina convulsed the nation with its massive destruction. Now Democrats believe it could wreak havoc again in a tide of voter resentment that could sweep Republicans from power.

Note to Democrat policy wonks - this didn't work in 2000, it didn't work in 2004 and it is not going to work this time. You must, as a national party, have some ideas. You will never win a national election on a platform of naysaying. While you are doing this crazy stuff and thinking all you need to work on is Ohio, Republicans are working on turning more states Red.

Democratic lawmakers began arriving in the stricken region Thursday, making a stand that will culminate Monday when about 20 House Democrats convene in Bay St. Louis, Miss., for a town hall meeting. Democratic Sen. Mary Landrieu of Louisiana plans to deliver the Democratic response to President Bush's Saturday radio address.

Party leaders sense that the Bush administration's performance in the aftermath of last year's hurricanes and lingering problems rebuilding the region are as politically damaging to the president _ and by extension, other Republicans _ as the war in Iraq.

Two things here:

1) When you talk about all the things that the administration did wrong, you will conveniently forget that the Bush administration inherited a legacy of the past 4 administrations' apathy toward disaster preparedness. You will also forget the cavalier attitude and inept execution of the Mayor of New Orleans and the Governor of Louisianna to use resouces at their disposal to mitigate risk to human life and suffering. Additionally, you will wrap your poor attempt to misinform America in rhetoric so strong with "everyone hates black people" type language that people will tune you out. Devisive tactics such as yours won't work.

2) Everything the Democrats do ALWAYS comes back to the war in Iraq. People are not nearly as dismal about it as you are - which is why you will contnue to lose elections. Yes, people FEEL that things are not as they should be (or could be), however, that will not translate into votes against national security. History is against you in this matter.

Cross-posted at No Pundit Intended.

Help Wanted! I Have An Illegal Bug Problem

Recently my bathroom was attacked by Carpet Beetles. The Carpet Beetle (A.K.A. Attagenus mezatoma) is a beetle that lives in and eats fibrous materials such as carpet, thread, wool, and pretty much anything that is somewhat cloth like. They also sit on the wall and produce 30-100 larva all around my bathroom. I noticed the first one about two months ago after coming back from the White Mountains it actually flew out of my pants while eating dinner with my friend. I am assuming that there were more and I am not sure if it really came from the White Mountains or if it came from some new clothes that I purchased. Either of the two ways are very viable ways of the beetle getting in. On average I can get about 50 to 75 in a couple of days. I called my bug guy and we had him come to spray and try to get them out, but it didn't work. So at that point I decided to follow another example.

I looked around my bathroom and saw that I didn't have enough carpets for the bugs to eat so I went out and bought a few more rugs to lay around my bathroom. After giving them a good amount of food to survive I saw a bug that looked as though it was hurt. So I picked up this bug and brought him into another part of the house where he could get the appropriate rest away from the other bugs. After a while there were more bugs that were getting sick so I had to use my dogs bed to accommodate them all and unfortunately my dog had to give up his comfort in order to save all of the little bugs. These beetles do a great job of eating rags and things that I don't need anymore so I picked up all of the rugs that I bought for them and gave them all of the old rags that I don't need anymore instead. I did this in order to take advantage of their hard working abilities, so that makes it all worth while. There are some other types of carpet beetles that are a bit more dangerous but I figured that it was a risk that I had to take because these beetles just want to eat and now work on getting rid of my old rags. It is great because they are reproducing at an alarming rate so I can get twice as much work done on my dirty rags once they all are full grown. Soon I will no longer be able to use my bathroom and might be giving up my bedroom as well in order to accommodate for these beetles. All of this happened because I decided to follow the example of the United States Government and their immigration policy.

Now it is time to clarify. The bugs should not be there and will not remain there because I am going to do something about it. Apparently this mind set is not mutually felt in Washington in regards to the illegal immigration problem. And judging form what I can see something needs to be done.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://thexdaily.blogspot.com/2006/08/help-wanted-i-have-illegal_115653297414291524.html' title='Help Wanted! I do it, you do it, we all do it. Do you ever think about it? What is it? It is the fact that we all give our money to companies that are constantly ruining our society. A woman came into my work during my shift and was harshly saying how she won't shop from a certain store because they support pornography. I have heard this many times and I have even used the following reasoning as an analogy for other situations that people bring up as various reasons for not shopping to a store or restaurant. The one question that I asked her was, do you shop at your local gas station or for that matter purchase gas? My next comment to her was they sell pornography! When I said that she said "wow I never thought of that".

That example was a very pithy example that has no effect outside of the United States. You can use the gas stations as another example the easiest and most well known example is gas itself! Who do we buy our gas from? We buy our gas from the middle east, enough said. That's only two examples and right there you are already assisting in two industries that are not doing anything good for the country. That brings me back my original question, why do we do it? Why do we buy product from places that use the money that we give them to buy more products that are damaging to our society? The answer in short is because we do. If you were expecting some profound answer I cannot give you one. Right now you may be feeling like you just read this for nothing, maybe you were looking for some sort of answer, to tell you the truth I don't have it.

I can tell you this though take three things that you use every day, for me it would be my computer, my car, and house. Now that you have your three things see how using them will negatively and positively impact society. For me my computer time is spent on the internet my internet is the local cable company who gives the service of pornography (if you purchase it) and internet (which has pornography on it) to people that like that sort of thing so that negatively effects society. But they also provide some good children and educational programming and allow me to do this, so that is a plus. Next my car, I use my car for work and I buy gas just as anyone does so I am guilty of giving money to companies that buy gas from places that I don't approve of. Last my house that is very broad but I use my house as shelter from rain, I use it to stay out of the heat and I use it to keep my goods and to power my goods, such as my computer and TV and cable which all lead back to something that can have negative effects on society.

By now you must be thinking that we are all doomed, that there is no way out and no matter what I do I will be giving people money that don't deserve it. I used the three things to illustrate that in all actuality there is very little that you can do and there is very little that I can do. But we are not doomed! There is a little thing that I would call intent, what are your intentions when you use the internet? What do you use the cable for? And What do you shop at the gas station for?

I would hope that the answer is "what I need to get by", because there are very few places that we can trust anymore, they all do it and no matter what you do there is almost not escaping it unless people all turn into hermits. So my one recommendation is to attack it at a lower level for example that local business that paints pictures and hangs signs that condemn our troops, don't eat there. But when you try to take it to a higher level it is nearly impossible, because when you are dealing with corporate companies in some cases you have to accept that capitalism must take its course. At the same time don't give up the fight, keep trying to find new way's to keep your money going to the right places.

In Other Blogs

Great story from NoPunditIntended.com

While many of us slept, anti-terrorism forces slipped-up on some very bad guys and captured them. These bad guys were reportedly in the final stages of a plot to kill as many plane travelers as possible. Some reports indicate there were 10 intercontinental aircraft targeted.

The underbelly of this caper has not come out yet, but I want to direct you attention to a couple of important items here. The first is that there was a lengthy investigation which uncovered this plot and set it up to be foiled.

The plot had ``global dimensions,'' Deputy Assistant Commissioner Peter Clarke said. U.K. police decided last night that ``urgent'' action was needed to thwart a plot to blow up the aircraft after officers conducted an ``unprecedented'' amount of surveillance, the top anti-terrorism official said. Reid said the police were confident that they had arrested the ``main players.'' (emphasis mine)

We might not know how the terrorists' intentions were discovered or what kinds of surveillence were conducted, but let me pose this question: What if the initial alarm was raised based upon the phone calling patterns of someone from outside Britain, calling into the UK?

To Continue Reading at NoPunditIntended.com Click Here.

World Trade Center

I went to see World Trade Center last night. I was not hit as emotionally as I thought that I would be. Maybe it was the slight hint of laughter in the film maybe it was the strong effect of a not politically charged film and the fact that I was trying to hard to read into it because of the directors track record. The film was very good but there could have been things done better. Here is what I know about the movie before I give my opinion. I know that they were coming from the position of the police and the families and I know that they were trying to not make it hit incredibly hard on the audience because it would be devistation on people that actually whitnessed it. But at the same time it needs to hit hard enough to remind the people that these people are still out there and that they need to be stopped. And if this movie doesn't give everyone a wake up call then maybe the news of the 21 people arrested trying to blow up planes over the U.S. will!

Issues in the news. How do they do it?

Television news is quite an amazing medium. Why you ask? The reason is simple because in this war as with the wars as far back as in the 1960's we have to wonder if we would have been better off not knowing what is going on or in other words what is supposed to be going on. There are many sides to the story of the war and it seems that they are always trying to target the market as a whole in order to please everyone by giving them what they want to hear instead of the truth.

Taking a look at all of the sides of the story. Starting with the support and working our way down to non-support. You have the people that support the war and support everything that the administration does. These people are most likely on the very far right and a lot of the time do not take a time to rationally sit and think about what they do and do not support. Next you have the average right of center person including your libertarians somewhere close to this and are rational thinking and are no puppet to the administration. The center is most likely the hardest position to take and for that reason if news always took the center no one would watch. The left of center crowd or your average democrat who is not in support of the war but is at least not going to stone our troops. And then you have the Irrational thinking left of left people that do not think about what they say, who do not support the war and do not support the president and who will do anything and everything to get him out of power and the war stopped.

Now that we know about all of the sides lets examine the why news programming is actually hurting us rather than helping us. About a year ago when the hurricanes were in full swing and everything was crazy I found it amazing how little reporting about the Iraq War the cable news programs actually did. And that fact alone left me with only one conclusion that a lot of what comes out of the news rooms has to be spun in order to go on forever and by the time they're done spinning it they're very far from where they started. The Iraq war is a back-up story, something that will always be there and something that they can always ask a question about that doesn't really matter. The reason why we know that these stories are spun a lot is because when we hear stories from the news rooms and news from bloggers like Michael Yon and other people who are in Iraq with the troops they are telling the truth and not catering to a certain audience.

We see the same thing happening now with Israel and the Iraq war as we did with the hurricanes and the Iraq war. So lets examine this question are we hurt or helped by all of the news that we have? The short answer is yes and no. No because we are not hurt by acquiring information. The only reason that the answer would be yes would be because we have to trust people to give us true information rather than give us information that caters to all points of views or a position that caters to the radical points of view in order to get ratings. After Walter Cronkite put on his show for the American people in opposition to the Vietnam war I think that the networks liked it. The only problem is that it doesn't work as well as it did 20 or 30 years ago.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://thexdaily.blogspot.com/2006/08/issues-in-news-how-do-they-do-it.html' title='Issues in the news.
